VETS NOW do not appear

Vets Now www.vets-now dot com practices DO NOT appear in my list of independent veterinary practices as the company belongs to IVC Evidensia whose ultimate parent undertaking is Islay New Group Holding SA, incorporated in the tax haven of Luxembourg. However this ownership is not immediately known by looking at its website; you really have to dig around to find this out, something that anyone looking for a vet in an emergency is not going to do. But at least you now know!

(If you go to "About Us" on its website you will learn that Richard Dixon, who founded Vets Now in 2001, sold the business to IVC Evidensia in 2019.)

In the year to 30th September 2022 Vets Now Emergency Ltd made a pre-tax profit of £12.8million on sales in excess of £104million. Compare this to the last full year when Richard Dixon was the majority shareholder. On a turnover of £39.2million in the year to 31st March 2018 pre-tax profit was £2million.

The profit margin has jumped from around 5% to over 12%.

Someone is making an awful lot of money out of pet / animal owners.
